Too Cool for School

Jonah's first all school Shabbat!  I rushed over to make sure I wasn't a moment late; I couldn't bear the thought of my baby stressing out because his Mommy wasn't there.

"Hi, Mom!" Jonah said.  He then proceeded to ignore me for the entire event.  I might even go so far as to say that he pretended not to know who I was.  He certainly didn't want to sit with me when he could be sitting with friends instead.  He enthusiastically participated in all of the songs: he took his little lights around the world and let them shine; he raised his imaginary kiddish cup; he sang the motzi in his loudest voice.  When he finally got bored, he started making faces of extreme flirtiness at Lana, who was sitting next to him, and then he kissed her. 

All in all, a successful Shabbat.

Jonah is also developing quite the persnickety fashion sense.  Tonight he gazed down at his feet and complained, "My socks are not white enough!"  I'm wondering whether it's ok to hand a 2 year old the Tide and tell him to help himself?
