It's 1:25 am, and I'm still cranking away in one of those late late nights so familiar to the working mommy. A few minutes ago, I heard the padding of little feet outside the door to my home office, and a familiar call for Mommy. I opened the door to find a sad, disoriented little Jonah keeping vigil outside my room. "Hi, Jony," I said. "Mommy, snuggle?" he offered. "Sure," I said. We walked, hand in hand, back to his room, where we snuggled in his toddler bed for approximately .03 seconds, at which point he fell deeply asleep.
On my way out of the room, I briefly stopped to drop a kiss on a peacefully sleeping Nate's forehead. His eyes immediately flew open (these boys and their daddy sleep like tse tse flies). "I need a snuggle," he commanded. Hee. I obliged in bed number 2. What can I say? My kids like to snuggle.
