Well. We are SO proud.
After almost 4 solid years of refusing to have anything to do with the potty, Nate has suddenly decided to just go along with it. As recently as 2 weeks ago, he would scream hysterically if anyone so much as suggested that he might want to try sitting on one, just for fun. Now, all of a sudden, he's doing it like a pro: he wakes up, hits the potty, comes home from school, potty again (so far no foreign potties, but we're taking it one step at a time), after snack, potty., and before bed, one last little potty visit. It turns out that it's all about finding the right motivation. Since Nate is currently obsessed with connect the dot books, I started out giving him a new book every time he went on the potty. When that got expensive, Sawyer's mommy Kim clued me in to single printable connect the dots and maze puzzles that you can get for free off the Internet, and boom--Nate goes, he's done, and he announces, "I need a new page!" Now if we can just convince him to wear underwear instead of a pullup...
Like all good little brothers, Jonah is also very proud of Nate. Every time Nate goes, Jonah comes running in and shouts, "Potty!! Yay, Neet!!"
Tonight, after Nate requested that I come along for company, he did his business and then asked me to leave so he could have some privacy while he washed his hands. Different people apparently have different ideas about which part of the process calls for privacy.
