We here at Nate Nate (soon to be renamed nateandjonah) have had quite a month. Here are a few pictures of the new guy:
So far, Jonah has been remarkably Nate-like in his disposition. He sleeps extremely well, and when he's awake, he's a mellow, relaxed guy. And Nate, for the most part, is happy to have him around.
So with the new kid and all, things have been pretty crazy around here. But not so crazy that we didn't have time to get out and see Santa in his very own home at The Grove. While Nate was not willing to sit on Santa's lap in Santa's own living room, he was quite happy to look at the candy canes, lollipops, and ice cream cones that Santa has used to decorate the outside of his house:
We also had time to stop for a snack, at which I took my first ever picture of both boys together. Doesn't Nate suddenly look awfully big?
A few quick Nate stories:
After waiting what seemed like forever for Nate to talk, we're now wishing we could hang on to the cute baby-talk versions of words a little longer. When he first started saying "motorcycle," it sounded something like "momomicycle," which we thought was very cute. Then, about a week later, it was just "motorcycle." Nate is also a big fan of the new Disney show Little Einsteins, which he called Little O'Steins, which was just adorable when he would sing the theme song. Now, however, it's just plain old Little Einsteins. Luckily, one of his other big cute pronunciations has to do with dinosaurs, which he loves. Ankylosaurus is "ankl-o-dinsoaurus," and stegosaurus is "stego-dinosaurus," and I just don't see him figuring out a way to get those out any time soon.
Another new and exciting development is Nate's love of Hanukkah. He's really into lighting the candles ("tamadehs"), eating chocolate gelt, and playing dreidle. The other day he asked for his kippah, which he calls a Hanukkah Hat, and then proceeded to sing the entire blessing over the candles. He was also pretty into the presents this year, which is a nice improvement over last year.
Nate is clamoring for the computer so that he can watch a slideshow of himself at the famous numbers exhibit from last year, so I have to run. Happy New Year, everyone!
So happy to see so many beautiful pics of adorable Jonah -- and Nate of course!! He is already shaping up to be as hip as his bro -- e.g., the outfit with the little star shirt -- couldn't be cuter! Sounds like you guys had great holidays. Hanukkah has been a big hit here too - esp. the gelt.

Look at you updating the blog! Such big boys you have there - Nate does indeed look huge compared to Jonah, but Jonah himself is getting up there! Thanks for the new pics!
