Nate Nate has not been much of a poster lately! We now make up for lost time with a series of new pictures and a roundup of his activities.
Here he is crawling through the tunnel in the park,
looking like a gangsta (all he needs is a cigarette dangling from one hand, no?),
visiting the Peterson Automotive museum (doesn't he look happy to be wearing a cute hat?),
splashing around his water table with Mia,
and just generally looking cute:
Since too much time has gone by to recap all his recent activities, here's a little story from tonight. We recently discovered a new trick for getting maximum cooperation from Nate. He can't resist any instruction that will help him to show that he's happy and he knows it. For example:
Daddy: Nate, what does a snake say?
Nate: (silence).
Daddy: Natey, what does a snake say?
Nate: (silence).
Daddy: If you're happy and you know it, be a snake.
Nate: Ssssssssss!!!!!! Ssssssssssss!!!! Ssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight we tried a new one:
Mommy: Nate, do you want to eat any more pasta?
Nate (looks disdainfully at pasta).
Daddy: If you're happy and you know it, eat more pasta!
Nate: (frantically eats pasta).
It's very handy, actually. Between that and the Pavlovian effect of the ukelele, which inspires Nate to sit on his potty, the house is running very smoothly.
Coming up: shorter intervals, fewer pictures, more stories!
Ok, the happy-and-you-know-it thing is just hilarious. Geoff made me read the whole thing out loud to him because he wanted to know what had me cracking up so much. Love these pictures and the ones in the next post; looks like springtime is a lot of fun in sunny LA!
