One problem with doing math beyond your years: Algebra 2 marks the first class since we started EPGY where Nate has homework from an actual textbook instead of just doing everything online. He's supposed to do the odd problems in each assigned section and then check his answers in the back of the book, but I do the checking for him. Tonight I was looking over the work he did last week. One problem set asked him to state whether certain things were like to vary directly or inversely with each other.
Problem #5: Your age and the likelihood that you believe in Santa Claus. D'oh!
The best part is that Nate correctly answered that one's age varies inversely with the likelihood that one believes in Santa... but did not seem to give it a moment's thought beyond that. Works for me!
